Michael Kadish

Michael Kadish is a leader in clean energy access, workforce development and environmental justice. As a Founding Partner at Insight Power Partners, he works with national nonprofit organizations to advance thoughtful climate solutions around the United States that serve marginalized communities, create pathways to worthwhile careers in clean energy, and promote clean air and drinking water.

 Michael is the past Board President of the Los Angeles League of Conservation Voters and a founding Board Member of GRID Alternatives Greater Los Angeles (GLA). From 2013 to 2020, he served as GLA’s Executive Director leading its efforts to make renewable energy technology and job training available to underserved communities in Los Angeles, helping to secure jobs in the solar industry for more than 500 Angelenos, while managing the installation of solar electric systems on over 1200 lower income homes, as well on multifamily affordable housing developments and mission aligned nonprofit facilities. 

 As an advocate, Michael’s work includes the successful passage of clean energy legislation on both the local and federal levels. He served as the Director of Public and Consumer Affairs for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and as a Policy Director for the 2008 Obama for America campaign. Michael also worked on post 9/11 redevelopment and environmental issues as the Policy Director for the New York City Council Member representing Lower Manhattan. In 2017, Michael was awarded the first LG Solar Community Champion Award by the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2018, under his leadership Grid LA was awarded USGBC -LA’s Non-Profit of the year and the Green Leadership Award by the LA County Board of Supervisors. Michael holds a BA in History with honors from Columbia University and a MPP from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
